We must encourage migrants to move to regional Australia
Policymakers at the Regional Australia Institute believe encouraging migrants to move inland could help fix regional labour shortages.
It’s also being seen as a way to stem regional Australia’s declining population.

“We’ve some community lead approaches where small communities get together and say, ‘we don’t have enough people here to do the work we need to do, our business can’t grow. We want to welcome migrants into our community’.
“Then they make a real effort to bring people in and make them a real part of the community.”
