‘We should be concerned’: Government senator warns against $13b Chinese purchase
A government Senator is concerned a company controlling Australia’s natural gas infrastructure could be sold to a Chinese enterprise.
The Foreign Investment Review Board is reviewing the $13-billion bid for the APA Group.
Liberal Senator Concetta Fierravanti-Wells tells Alan Jones the sale shouldn’t go ahead.
“I think that we should be concerned and this was the basis of the concerns that I raised earlier this year.
“Now, I raised them in the context, specifically, of the Pacific.
“Because, of course, the stability and security of our region is second only to the defence of Australia.”
