“We’ll need to be better for Canberra”: Adam Doueihi speaks to the Continuous Call Team
South Sydney may be one step closer to the NRL premiership, but they know there are things to work on.
South Sydney full-back Adam Doueihi spoke to the Continuous Call Team after his stellar performance against Manly helped put the Rabbitohs in a Preliminary Final against the Canberra Raiders next Friday night.
Doueihi admits the Rabbitohs will need to fix their defence, especially on the edges, for their game against the Raiders but they’ll work hard to get their combinations right before Friday night.
When asked on coach Wayne Bennett’s reaction post-game, Doueihi says Bennett was happy with the result but disappointed with the performance.
Coach Bennett even warned the team a similar performance won’t see them get past Canberra.
Doueihi also recounts how he missed the first part of Bennett’s half-time speech whilst seeking medical attention and admitted he was confused when he joined the group…because Bennett was talking about what they needed to regain the lead.
“I sort of heard him going off a bit…and saying we’re down…”
Bennett hadn’t realised his side had scored a try in the last minute of the first half!
“Wayne burst into laughter!”
