‘We’ve gone stark, raving mad’: The PC brigade is coming for our fairytales
Children’s fairytales are being attacked by the PC brigade… again.
This time, it’s Hollywood stars who are taking aim at our beloved Disney stories.
American actress Kristen Bell coming for Snow White, expressing concern over how Prince Charming plants a kiss on his true love.
38-year-old Bell uses the story as a teaching opportunity for her daughters, telling Parents Magazine the prince’s actions are “weird” and inappropriate.
But it doesn’t end there.
British actress Keira Knightly has also spoken out against some of our most well-known tales.
Keira’s daughter is banned from watching Cinderella because the princess relies on a “rich guy to rescue her”.
The Little Mermaid is also on the naughty list because Ariel gives her voice up for a man.
Chris Smith can’t believe what he’s hearing.
“This is what we’re now wasting our breath on. The concern that little boys and girls are going to learn bad relationship lessons from children’s fairytale stories.”
Chris says we’ve truly gone “stark, raving mad”.
“These are friendly, creative, magical kids stories!”
