Wharf strike to take advantage of pandemic, Neil Breen says

Strike action by the Maritime Union of Australia is threatening to place extra strain on supply chains.

The action is centred in Sydney, where workers will strike for 12 hours every Monday, Wednesday and Friday for the whole of October.

It’s believed while Brisbane and Melbourne wharfies have already reached an in-principle agreement, they will also be striking to support their Sydney colleagues.

“Don’t think people aren’t using this pandemic to their advantage,” Neil Breen said.
