Skyhooks guitarist Bob ‘Bongo’ Starkie has addressed a long-running rumour that he went “berserk” with an axe.

The musician joined Laurel, Gary and Mark this morning ahead of Skyhooks touring south-east Queensland later this month.

Gary Clare: “One of the memories I have of you, I used to read RAM and Juke and all that type of thing, was the story of you with an axe.

Bob Starkie: “Yes…?”

Gary Clare: “Was that just publicity? For some reason it just always sticks in my mind when I hear your name.”

Mark Hine: “What happened with the axe!?”
