What Magic Round means to Brisbane businesses after slow start in 2022
It’s hoped Brisbane will be buzzing for Magic Round, with hotels and pubs and restaurants expecting crowds and tourists this weekend.
The Caxton Hotel’s Ross Farquhar says it’s massive for the Caxton precinct, and Brisbane’s CBD.
“Our biggest day of course is always Origin, and the weekend of Magic Round is like having two Origins over three days, so it’s pretty important to us, especially after the fairly slow start we all had early in the year January and February,” he told Scott Emerson.
“And you hear accomodation is up above 90 per cent in hotels in Brisbane, so it’s got to be great for Brisbane.”
He says Sydney can keep the grand final, and Brisbane should hang on to Magic Round!
