Five people will appear in court after a female police officer was choked and bitten in Brisbane’s north-west.
Police were responding to reports five people were fighting outside a Mitchelton pub after being kicked out.
When the officers tried to break it up a Polynesian man allegedly strangled the 35-year-old senior constable until she almost lost consciousness.
Police say he bit her when she tried to fight him off, while the rest of the group held back her male partner when he tried to help her.

Queensland Police Union President Ian Leavers tells Ray Hadley they should be deported.
“This is a disgraceful act.
“I’ve spoken with Peter Dutton this morning… he’s gonna work with us to see what we can do to deport these people back to where they come from.
