Why Norfolk Island locals are pushing for a tourism ban

A freeze on tourists has been floated on Norfolk Island, where locals are grappling with an ongoing freight crisis that has seen the island run out of groceries.
Norfolk relies on shipping and airfreight services to bring supplies onshore but just 23.5 of the 200 tonnes of required groceries has been delivered in the last month.
It’s led some residents to suggest tourism be brought to a halt until a sufficient supply is returned to locals.
