The European Space Agency is calling for the moon to be allocated a time zone.

It comes amid a boom in the number of lunar missions in planning.

Astronomer with the Australian National University, Dr Brad Tucker, says it’s logical.

“It’s not like you’re just shifting time zones,” he told Laurel, Gary & Mark.

“A day on the moon is very different than on Earth, which means you can’t just say it’s 24 hours.

“They want to make sure that when you get people there working, they actually are working on the same time.”
