Just weeks out from Christmas, Australian bottle shops are struggling with a mild champagne shortage.

Retailers say they’re struggling to get popular brands like Moët, Veuve Clicquot and Bollinger on their shelves.

Today reporter Mia Glover told Laurel, Gary & Mark supply chain issues and growth in global demand are being blamed for the troubles.

“COVID supply chain issues have affected champagne bottles, corks and labels, shipment delays,” she said.

“And the 2021 champagne harvest was actually reduced to less than half its size from mildew, frost and they’ve had some pretty bad weather over there in Champagne.”
