A woman is feared dead and two others are injured after a serious two-car crash north of Brisbane this morning. 

Police and paramedics were rushed to the D’Aguilar Highway at Moodlu just after 7am, following reports a ute and car had collided head-on.

A primary school-aged child and woman were initially trapped in the wreckage.

The girl was later taken to Queensland Children’s Hospital in a serious condition with head, pelvis and leg injuries.

The woman suffered critical injuries, and is feared to have died at the scene.

A man was taken to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

The highway has been closed at the William Bridge Overpass in the Caboolture area.

Traffic is being diverted to Williams Road for at least the next few hours.
