An Ipswich woman was forced to wait for hours in inhumane conditions with her unborn baby in a biohazard bag after suffering a miscarriage at Ipswich hospital.

This is just the latest in a string of incidents happening in maternity wards across the state.

4BC 9News reporter Jess Millward, who broke the story on the 9News last night, told Neil Breen on 4BC Brisbane Live that “it’s horrific, it’s shocking, it’s terribly sad”.

Jess Millward confirmed that the Health Minister Shannon Fentiman has learned through the incident that “there is currently no statewide best practice model of care to deal with women who are having a miscarriage”.

A government review is underway.
