Proposed privacy changes by the Federal Government may lead to Meta charging users to be on the platform. 

The government have proposed 166 changes to the Privacy Act.

The parent company of Instagram and Facebook, Meta, have supported 156 of these changes.

Meta believes that two of the proposed changes threaten to undermine the value of personalised internet services.

Tech Expert, Geoff Quattromani joined Sofie Formica on 4BC Afternoons to explain why Meta would have to start changing users to be on their platforms.
