‘You’re on, mate!’: Ray Hadley’s new job for country ‘legend’ Lucky Starr
Ray Hadley has appointed himself country music star Lucky Starr’s honorary promoter after a surprise open-line call.
For his part of 4BC’s Bowser Buster competition, Ray has been playing the ‘legendary’ artist’s rendition of I’ve Been Everywhere this morning.
The special feature caught the attention of 81-year-old Lucky Starr himself, who promptly called in to the show ahead of his Victoria tour in June.
Ray Hadley: “Listen, I’ll tell you what I’m going to do, now that I know you’re on the road, I’m your unofficial media man.
“So whenever you’re touring, I’ll get the crew to give you a ring and get some numbers.
“I need to know about it so I can be the Lucky Starr event manager!”
Lucky Starr: “Righto, you’re on, mate!”
